Are you both fully professional portrait photographers?

Yes we are. We are long standing members of Master Photographers Association and other leading professional photography bodies. We are also CRB checked and as well as our private portrait photography we frequently work for schools and children's charities. We are very experienced child photographers and we understand the skills required to take beautiful photographs of  babies children and young people.

How long have you been portrait photographers?

We have been photographing children together in Surrey and Hampshire since we started our business in 1989.   We have photographed thousands of children and families over the years and many of our clients return year upon year to update and expand the growing story of their families.  This is because we photograph you in a relaxed and natural way and you  know the truth and the real emotions in our photographs.  We are creative and dont simply repeat a formula. Our portraits are original and timeless. They are happy photographs.  Also, people come back to us because of the way we work. We are friendly and offer good value for excellent photography. Our clients feel relaxed with us and the whole experience is enjoyable.

What is your style of photography ?

We are creative and always looking for new photographs, we move fast and are always awake to what is going on around us.  We take many different photographs within a session, some relaxed, often laughing together, some quiet sensitive moments between a baby and a parent etc. You have a lot to choose from but the overall feeling of the photography is real and relaxed, not over posed and no nasty oily backgrounds!. We are lucky enough to live so near to some of the most beautiful countryside in Surrey and Hampshire and so our locations change constantly throughout the year.  We are happy to come to your home too.

What is best to wear?

We would always advise that you are comfortable and that you like what you are wearing.  If there is going to be a group of you in the portrait then it is a good idea to all be relaxed or all be more formal and to match your clothing loosely by colour.  We often use nature for younger portraits and we often work barefoot indoors.

We advise against very bright colours and wording on clothes.

Can we purchase a USB of all the photographs?

Yes

How long does a portrait session last?

We allow an hour for a portrait sesson.  This gives you time to relax and for us to give you lots of choice.

Babies : With babies it is important that they have time within the session for a cuddle and maybe a nappy change. The portrait session is relaxed and new parents often find the whole experience great fun.  It is worth arranging the portrait session around your babies' natural nap time so that they are refreshed and not hungry.

Young children : Mornings are generally best for young children as they all seem to go a little wild around tea time.  When our kids were small the hour before bathtime was frequently the longest hour of the day!!!.

How soon after the session do we see the photographs?

We take care with your photographs and edit them to present you with a fantastic set of photographs that you will love showing your friends and family.  Good editing takes time and so we generally say that your photos are ready to view within a week of the portrait sitting.

How do we view our photographs?

Your portrait session goes online to a secure and personal website that is password protected for you and your family/friends only.

Can we have black and white photographs?

We shoot digitally and so any image can be enhanced into bw.  We always show you a proportion of your photographs in bw so that your collection has good flow and a variety of shots and poses.

Can our families order extra photographs?

We offer a wide range of portraits display ideas from  gorgeous coffee table books, grandparents albums to individual photographs for sale. There are so many ideas and we are happy to show you and advise.

Do you offer framed photographs and canvasses etc?

Yes. We offer a full range of luxury and contemporary frames. We offer canvas wraps, acrylics and exciting wall art ideas. We are happy to advise you after the session which shots would look stunning. We can show you how your photos would look in the studio.

Do you offer engagement shoots?

Yes we do. Our Wedding Clients really enjoy this and all photographs are available to purchase from the shoot.

Do you offer portrait vouchers?

Yes we do. Please see our vouchers tab.

Where do you take the photos -  at our home or on location?

Since the Autumn of 2015 we have taken our portraiture outdoors for children, using the wonderful countryside we enjoy here on our doorstep - Frensham , Ludshott Common, the Devils Punchbowl . If you would prefer indoor shots we can bring our studio to you. In your own space both children and adults alike often feel more calm and relaxed. Home is a special place and it is private. We have the option to shoot in low light too and so your portraits can be lighty and airy or moody and evocative depending on your preference.

The studio photography is still available through our portrait days but in most cases we now use your garden or beautiful countryside as a natural background for photographs.  This gives a relaxed and real feel to the portraits.  In the Summer months we are spoilt for choice with good light  and often use natural features to shoot through or from and this gives great interest to the shots.  In Winter we again use the natural light and often suggest fluffy hats, coloured scarves or cosy fleeces to give the photos a warm feeling.  A garden is a lucky extension interior portraiture and allows you to have an extra dimension to your portrait session.

So, to summarise, we can visit you at home for a portrait sitting, or we can go on location with you.  These portrait sessions are priced separately depending on location and how long you would like us to spend with you. Please call us for a quote.

Are you insured?

We are fully insured with public liability and professional indemnity insurance.

Do you only photograph portraits?

No. We shoot weddings, portraits and we work commercially for several international corporate clients on creative projects such as photography for websites and editorial . We have worked for the Royal Palaces on numerous occasions, for government and for several leading charities. We also work with many Surrey and Hampshire schools providing a new and creative approach within schools including prospectus and core-value enhancement display pieces around school environments and in recent years shooting contemporary lifestyle school photographs of the pupils. This side of our work has being very successful and is now a separate second company of ours - Fresh School Photography Ltd and we would be very happy to talk to you or your school.
